Chief of the Presidential Staff, Moeldoko, has stressed that the Indonesian government is continuously seeking to fulfill the rights of children and ensure their protection to help its citizens live their best lives.
“The commitment is realized by the government through various programs provided to Indonesian children, from when they are in the womb, developing, and growing into adulthood,” he said on Tuesday in an Instagram post on @dr_moeldoko to mark National Children’s Day.
He added that the programs include the fulfillment of the nutritional needs of pregnant women and under-five children to prevent stunting as well as programs to encourage districts and cities to create the best environments and services for children.
Moeldoko said that the best services for children include developing child-friendly districts and cities so that children can grow and develop optimally in their living environment.
To ensure that all Indonesian children enjoy the right to education, he continued, the government has implemented the Smart Indonesia program, which seeks to ensure every child’s access to quality education from elementary school to higher education levels.
He affirmed that the government is currently preparing a grand design for the management of national talents to ensure that the nation’s best children get access to guidance and self-development in the fields of research and innovation, arts, and culture.
In relation to National Children’s Day, Moeldoko expressed the government’s gratitude to parents, the community, and all elements of society who have worked with the government to reduce stunting, violence against children, and child marriage.
“I invite all elements of society and the government to continuously create a child-friendly environment,” he said.
