Pemindaian wajah bakal jadi opsi registrasi kartu SIM di masa depan. Masyarakat tinggal memindai wajah dan mencocokkannya dengan Dukcapil.
Pihak XL Axiata telah melakukan uji coba registrasi secara biometrik. Pelanggan perlu mendatangi gerai untuk registrasi SIM Card.
“Jadi kamu datang ke gerai, kamu kasih KTP terus nanti dia bilang oke. Tapi dia enggak input KTP tapi di-read wajah kamu,” kata Chief Corporate Affairs XL Axiata, Marwan O. Baasir, ditemui di Bandung, Jumat (27/9/2024).
Dia menjelaskan untuk uji coba masih sebatas pencocokan data dengan wajah pelanggan. Belum diatur apakah data boleh disimpan operator atau diberikan verifikasi.
“Tapi data ini, dia kan nanti ada dua kemungkinan. Boleh nggak disimpan? Boleh terus ngomong sama dukcapil . Atau hanya verifikasi saja?Iya. Yes, selesai. Sementara ini masih yes aja. Berarti wajah itu dilempar ke sana, balik, ngasih tau, sukses. Tidak menyimpan,” kata Marwan.
“Apakah nanti disimpan, dan sebagainya itu tentu kita nggak bisa ngelawan peraturan perundangannya pula. Jadi kita harus ngomong,” jelasnya menambahkan.
Registrasi biometrik ini diharapkan dilakukan pelanggan baru. Karena jumlah pelanggan lama sudah terlalu banyak mencapai ratusan juta.
Jadi registrasi dilakukan hanya bagi pengguna nomor baru. Yakni mereka yang ganti nomor atau memiliki nomor seluler baru.
“Ternyata yang turn itu cuma 2-3% yang sering gonta ganti kartu Biarkan aja dia yang verifikasi kartu dan memvalidasi,” ucapnya.
Saat uji coba, registrasi biometrik sudah selesai hanya dalam hitungan tidak sampai 30 detik. Waktunya hampir sama dengan registrasi melalui SMS seperti yang dilakukan sekarang.
Registrasi biometrik masih dalam tahapan proof of concept. Nantinya juga masih butuh sosialisasi pada masyarakat penerapan registrasi ini.
“Yang paling berat adalah sosialisasi. Jadi setelah POC, aturan agar kita dikasih waktu untuk sosialisasi, baru efektif,” kata Marwan.
